Halifax Seed Rack Program
Our Seed Rack Program is designed to make it easy for businesses to offer a curated selection of Halifax Seed packets to their customers, all while providing flexible support and marketing. Here's how it works:
Seed Racks
Each business in our program will receive a Halifax Seed rack that perfectly fits our seed packet format. The racks remain on-site as long as you are part of the program. Halifax Seed retains ownership of the racks, and we ask that they be used exclusively for Halifax Seed products. If you ever decide to leave the program, we’ll arrange for the rack’s return.
Refilling Your Rack
When your rack needs replenishing, the process is simple and streamlined. You can request refills at any time by filling out our digital refill form. Our warehouse will promptly process your request and ship out your seed, ensuring your rack stays well-stocked throughout the season.
Rack Formats
Our seed rack formats are carefully designed to suit a variety of retail spaces and sales volumes. While our formats are subject to change at Halifax Seed’s discretion, here are some examples of what you can expect:
- Single 96 Early: This rack format includes a mix of direct-sow varieties and those that need to be started indoors (like tomatoes and peppers). It contains 96 pockets and holds a diverse selection of varieties.
- Half 96: Similar to the Single 96 Early, but with fewer packets per variety. Ideal for garden centers with medium seed sales volume.
- Double 96: Designed for larger garden centers with higher traffic, this rack holds a wider variety of seed options.
- Triple 96: Perfect for high-traffic locations, this format includes the broadest selection of varieties.
- Double Half 96: For stores that need a wider selection but fewer packets per variety, the Double Half 96 offers a balance between variety and volume.
These are just a few of the formats available. We work closely with each business to ensure you’re set up with a rack size that suits your needs.
Easy Seed Returns
At the end of the season, we'll send you instructions and materials to return unsold seed packets. Returned seed helps us refine future shipments, ensuring your racks are stocked with the most popular and profitable varieties. Credit is issued for all returned seed, and tracking what’s returned helps us optimize your seed selection for the next season.
Eligibility & Account Management
To keep your seed rack program running smoothly, it’s important that your account stays up-to-date. Each year, we review your account to ensure that the size of your rack matches your sales and returns. We work with you to make adjustments as needed to maximize profitability.
Marketing Support
As part of our Seed Rack Program, you benefit from Halifax Seed’s active marketing efforts. We feature your business on our website's location search, and we promote seed rack partners on our social media channels. Join in our cross-promotions and marketing campaigns to help drive even more customers to your store!
How to Join
To ensure the Seed Rack Program is the right fit for your business, we ask that all new participants apply for eligibility. This helps us confirm that the program aligns with your business needs and allows us to provide the ideal rack format based on your store size and capacity. Once your application is approved, we’ll set you up with a tailored seed rack and the perfect selection of seed packets to get started.
