Orchardgrass

Orchardgrass: A very early aggressive grass which can be used for stored feed, green chip or pasture. When used as stored feed, Orchardgrass should be cut when the heads are just emerging from the boot. It grows back rapidly after cutting or grazing. Orchardgrass is best used along with an early alfalfa. It requires lime, well-drained soils and surface drainage for maximum yields and protection from ice and flooding.
